School Clubs
LAW Chess Team
Advisor: Mrs. Albritton
Do you want to compete against other schools and sharpen your skills? Then
the Chess team is the club for you! This team will participate in 5
Tournaments during the school year. All ages, K-5 grades are invited to
play. Practice Days: Mondays & Tuesdays
(Anna Woodbury Campus) Wednesdays & Thursdays (Lewis Campus) 7:45 a.m.-8:15
a.m. (Media Center)
Archery
Advisor: Coach Reffo
The Archery club is designed for students who are interested in becoming
better archers and are looking at becoming part of the Lewis Anna Woodbury
Elementary archery team. The archery club will meet every
Wednesday from 3:30 until 4:30. We will meet every week until the 2nd week
of November, which is when we will have tryouts for the archery team.
LAW “TORCH” Honor Society
Advisors: Ms. Rice, Mrs. Pawley, & Mrs. Foster
Membership Criteria: Scholarship- Responsibility- Service- Leadership-
Meeting Days: 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month 7:45 a.m.-8:20 a.m.
LAW Network Production
Advisors: Ms. Macon, Mrs. New & Mrs. Carrier
This team creates the morning news show. Team members will be responsible
for writing scripts, filming segments, and editing video. Students must be
creative, dependable, responsible, follow directions and able to work on a
team. There will be times that students will need to report before the
school day starts. The team production will mostly take place during their
electives.
Year Book
Advisors: Ms. Macon, Mrs. New, Mrs. Coker, & Mrs. Camp
This team creates the Annual Yearbook. Team members will be responsible for
designing, photographing, and writing. Students must be creative,
dependable, responsible, follow directions and able to work on a team.
Students will need to report before the school day starts. The team
production will mostly take place during their electives.
Safety Patrol
Advisors: Coach Reffo & Coach Welliver
The Safety Patrol club is for students who would like to be a safety patrol
on both the Lewis and Anna Woodbury campuses. The patrols will switch at the
end of every 9 weeks. The safety patrols assist the teachers on duty in the
morning and afternoons.
Skills Tutoring for Kids (STK)
Advisor: Mrs. Salinas
Do you want to help younger students become better readers? If you do, then
The Lion’s Skills Tutoring for Kids (STK) Club is the club for you. We meet
at least once during the week.
FLAG
Advisor: Mrs. Foster
The Lewis Anna Woodbury Flag Core team is responsible for putting flags up
in the morning before school and taking flags down prior to dismissal. Fifth
grade students are chosen by administration to participate. Flag Core
members will switch at the end of every 9 weeks.
PRIDE
Lewis Anna Woodbury Elementary prepares students with the academic skills, habits of mind, and character traits necessary to perform on or above grade level and to succeed in rigorous academia in middle school, high school, postsecondary options, and life beyond.
E-TEAM
The Lewis Anna Woodbury Elementary staff unites with parents and community to provide an atmosphere of mutual acceptance where students will grow regardless of background in achieving success and evolve into leaders of tomorrow.
"Sound of the Pride" Chorus
Advisor: Mrs. Webb
The “Sound of the Pride” Chorus is comprised of 4th and 5th
grade students from the Anna Woodbury campus. We meet weekly on
Thursday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 p.m. Our performances throughout
the year include the Fort Meade Christmas festivities, the Fort Meade Relay
for Life event, and a collaboration with the Fort Meade High School choral
programs for a concert in May. The chorus has also been selected four
times to perform at Downtown Disney as part of Disney’s Performing Arts
Series and hopes to make a return appearance this year.
